1920's Notes from Guided Lecture
1920's Advertising
Speakeasies Worksheet -I know it is only 3/4 done.
1920's Slang
1920's Exam- You may write on the exam- Turn into the plastic bin
When you are done with the exam QUIETLY grab a US History Blue textbook from the cupboard. Read Section 1 from Chapter 14 pages 464- 471. Answer question 1 on page 471 on a separate sheet of white lined paper. This is DUE AT THE END OF CLASS!
For each term or name on page 471 write a one or two sentence defining what the term is and then two sentences about the significance of that term or person during the Great Depression
Example:
Term: Price Support
Definition: The maintenance of a price of a product at a certain level through government intervention.
Significance: When farmers could not pay their mortgages Congress tried to help them buy setting Price Support on key products like corn, wheat , cotton and tabacco. The government guaranteed they would buy surplus amount of those products at a higher price and sell them to other countries. This piece of legislation to help the farmers was called the McNary- Haugen Bill.
